The GenEsIs wall
The paintings that grace our hallway are the account of the Genesis story. They were donated by an elderly woman who loves God.

Thank you Jesus. After almost 5 years after the church fire our new adventure begins.
After being on the road for 2400 miles in the motorhome for 15 days, it's nice to be home in Homeland. The conference in Baker City, OR was amazing and we enjoyed the ministry aspect of the trip immensely. Our 2 cats survived the journey, although I wasn't sure we would! These two were not happy campers but at times they made the best of the trip. This is not what they are accustomed to at all! They are happy to be home too! changes in homeland Since we have been gone, the parsonage and the sanctuary have been demolished leaving the footprint that will make way for the new structures. We have also received the new cathedral tent where we will hold worship services until the new church is completed. It is smaller that the first tent and designed to be cooled and stay cooler. So hopefully during the hot summer months it will be comfortable.
So tomorrow will be our first service in the new tent. We have changed the Traditional Service to 9:00AM so it will be cooler for our Seniors and the New Hope Experience Service to 11:00AM.

We left Baker City, OR this morning and are now in Salem OR. As we drive along the Columbia River I can't help but to be in AWE of God's amazing creation. Maybe they could send some of that water to California! Just saying. Many thanks to Peggy and Daniel Brown from Calvary Chapel of Romoland. Peggy has kicked off a campaign called "Prayer Changes Things." She sent over 100 signs to Oregon with us to give away. Her mission is to put these signs in every state in the United States. Oregon was the 14th state to receive these signs. Harvest Church was so excited to receive these and have posted them all over Baker City.
Well, it's been 2 and a half months since the first fire on the church property. And with all the planning and insurance negotiations, demolition has begun. Today the parsonage was demo-ed. Where it was sad, it was also exciting to see the old destroyed building making way for a new beginning. Thank you Mary Ann Gilleon for taking the photos of the process. The demo on the sanctuary will take place as late as Thursday this week. This too will be an exciting new beginning.
We have also ordered a new tent to worship in. It will be a smaller version of the present tent, but we will own it instead of renting it. It is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow and hopeful set up for services on Sunday. Thank you Ron Cooper for all you have done through this. Mike and I are still in Oregon. We just finished a conference in Baker City called Taking the City for Christ. 5 churches came together and gave honor and glory to God this weekend. It was an amazing event. We prayed for and over the city. This is our 3rd year participating in this crusade. And prophetically God again rained down His Spirit on Baker City in the form of RAIN. Much like California, Oregon has been very dry, so when we asked God to rain down, He did!! Also, this weekend was the annual "Hell's Canyon Biker's Convention." Over 5000 bikers came to Baker City to party and have fun. The funniest thing is when they would take off their helmets, most of them had very gray hair. And most of them came in their RVs and pulled their bikes in trailers. :) |
