THE FIRE
April 30, 2016 Community First Church of God burnt to the ground. The fire began approximately 8:00PM. Fire fighters worked for several hours to put out the fire. Since the fire had collapsed the roof it had to be fought from the outside instead of the inside which took longer than normal. "The minute I walked onto the property, I gazed at the flames and looked up to the sky and said 'Lord Jesus, be glorified through this. I don't know how you will do it, but I know you will.'" said Pastor Mike Gratzke.
Since the fire was at a place of worship the bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Fire Arms (ATF) arrived early Sunday morning to make the formal investigation of how the fire started. They also had petroleum sniffing dogs on the property. The investigation has not been completed as yet.
